Pitch changes the musical register. Formant processing changes the spectral envelope associated with vocal character. Velum offers separate controls so producers can explore each part of the sound.
Listen in the context of the track
A useful vocal transformation has to work with the performance and the mix. The development focus is on keeping consonants, attacks and the stereo image understandable while the sound changes. Listening validation remains part of the work.
A local audio tool
Velum is a native plugin project with AU, VST3 and standalone build formats for macOS. It processes audio locally. Compatibility for a public release will be documented after host testing.
